Open Water Swimming |
||
|
Nationally, there is going to be an extended period of good weather that will result in high temperatures. Partnered with it coming up to the Summer Holidays. It is import to educate not only yourselves, but young people on water safety.
The Moorlands has many open water spots including Tittesworth Reservoir, Hales Hall Pool, Rudyard lake, Knypersley Reservoir to name a few.
Although these areas are inviting to jump in and swim, there are not only dangers lurking underneath the water, but the sudden change of a hot body hitting cold water can cause the body to go into cold water shock.
We want everyone to enjoy the natural beauty that the Moorlands has but we want people to do it safely. Please don't use open water to cool off.
